How much waterproof LED lights are different from LEDs
You won’t find any differences when you see for the first time, but actually, they are very different in terms of protection and performance. The standard LED may not work during rains, but a waterproof LED will continue to deliver its performance. In modern LEDs, the reputed manufacturer like Hykolity carries a wide range of waterproof LED options.
Water resistance is certified with an IP 67 rating whereas, waterproof LED is certified with a certified IP68 rating which means it can survive in heavy rains and IP67 will survive in water splashes.

The differences between products commonly sold with certified IP65, IP67, & IP68 certified products are slightly different from each other.
- IP65- Water resistant. Protected against water splashes from any side or angle.
*Do NOT immerse IP65 LED lights, these are not waterproof.
- IP67- Water resistant plus. Protected against the events of temporary submersion for a limited time (max 10 min)
*Do NOT immerse IP67 LED lights for extended periods, these cannot survive underwater, but they are splash proof.
- IP68- Waterproof Protected against the events of permanent submersion up to 3 meters.

Lower IP ratings are appropriate for:
