I was surprised by how well packaged these lights are and by the heavy duty construction. Even the stakes are metal. The lights are bright, beautiful and serve as both pathway and accent lighting. I initially wanted a set of lights with replaceable bulbs, but these seem to be great value for the money. Time will tell if the built-in LEDs last, but I am pleased so far.

Hey there, contrary to what some reviews have incorrectly stated, these lights are 12 volt AC compatible (this is really a must, as most landscape transformers supply 12 volt AC, not DC.) This is not just true of 'older systems'... AC power is better at transmitting through wires over distance, with much less power loss as the current travels through the wires. (This is why commercial/residential power systems always use AC not DC). AC is simply superior, and also doesn't require that you consider positive versus negative wires when hooking up the lights; with AC, the wires can be hooked up either way, very easy! Technically speaking, LED bulbs only work on DC current (hence the confusion here with some folks), but it just takes a simple rectifier circuit within the light fixture to convert the AC current from the wires to DC within the fixture. Presto, the LED light has DC power, even though the transformer is sending AC power to the light. I've got a lot of different types of LED lights in my landscape lighting, all powered by 12 volt AC transformers. I wouldn't buy a light that only worked with DC current. The manufacturer is on record as stating that these lights work with AC or DC, so there you go.

These light are very easy to install. They are much brighter than I expected. Very happy with this purchase!

Had them for about a month and they are perfect in height and size. Very bright. Bit expensive but if they last, it will be worth it..

I am sooooo pleased with these! They look beautiful day and night! Finish is a medium/dark brown with just a little bit of metallic sparkle. Lights and transformer were very easy to install. Ground spikes were durable enough to be pounded in with a hammer. Just enough light on my driveway without looking like a landing strip at the airport. I am considering another set for the back yard.

We’re very impressed with the style, build and finish of these lights. All six units were easy to install, and work perfectly. The light they cast is warm and interesting. We bought this set to replace some plastic fixtures that were beginning to crumble from exposure to the elements. These lights are constructed of cast aluminum, with glass lenses, which assures they will last indefinitely outdoors. Also, I found the wiring attachment clips to be far superior to those on our old set. These were far easier to use, and although not waterproof connectors, seem to offer a more reliable electrical connection.My only disappointment was seeing that the LEDs are permanently built into the fixtures, not replaceable ‘bulbs’. This means that they cannot be replaced when they fail, something inevitable that can happen prematurely due to a near lightning strike. Also, these LEDs are not dimmable, which would have been a nice option to have.

These lights are the best we ever seen and best price. The crinkled glass is impressive even when not lit in daytime. Lit up they are even better. Super easy to put together and install wire then stab in the ground. The finish on these are really great and look high quality. You get what you pay for and these will last years.

My friend asked me to find him a replacement for the crappy solar-powered landscaping lights that he had mounted on his electric gate. The solar-powered lights didn't seem to last more than 6 months, and would never stay illuminated through the entire night. His only requirements were that the new lights had to look nice, please his wife, remain illuminated throughout the hours of darkness, be water-resistant and be visible from his house 100 yards away, so that they could tell if the gate was closed or open. After looking at all of the available waterproof marine lighting, I decided to look at landscaping lighting. My friend and his wife fell in love with the nice crackle design of the glass and the fact that you could view the light from a 360 degree angle. These lights are definitely stronger and look nicer than the cheap plastic solar panel lights! The snap-and-seal design connection to the landscape wiring didn't work for my setup, using a different type of landscaping cable, so I cut off the connectors. The power cables on the lights have one conductor with small writing along its length. This cable (with the writing on it) needs to be connected to the POSITIVE 12 volts DC power source. The cable with NO imprinting on the exterior needs to be connected to the NEGATIVE 12 volt DC power. (Since this is an LED light, you will definitely need a 12 Volt DC power source (sold separately) and NOT a 12 volt AC power source, which is popular in the old (non-LED) landscape lighting.) I used simple wire nuts (not included) to connect the light cables to the landscape wiring, and sealed the connections with RTV sealant. All six lights were wired identically, and put out a uniform amount of sufficient, pleasing light. If any of your LED lights do not illuminate, you might want try to temporarily reverse the polarity on that particular light to see if it works, before you send it back. I only installed four lights, and saved two lights to use in the event of a failure with any of the original lights. Consuming less than FOUR WATTS for each light, you don't need to worry about these lights making a dent in your electric bill! In the event any of these light fail I will update this review.

After trying plastic solar path lights twice (you think I would have learned the first time...) I bought these, and so gald I did. Easy to install, and beautiful!
